File this under news you can really sink your teeth into

Today is National Hamburger Day! Appropriate since it's just after Memorial Day Weekend and the summer vibe is officially here. OK, maybe not here in the PNW, but we all like to believe it's somewhere out there and will soon (soonish) be here too.

The wonderful journalists and researchers (and lucky dogs) at Good Morning America compiled a list of the top 20 hamburger joints in America. You can catch the slide show here.

But something, or rather some place, is missing from the list: the Pacific Northwest.

So in my humble opinion, here are a few options that need to be added to the list, in no particular order:

Hudson's Hamburgers: Coeur d'Alene, Idaho
Blue Moon Burgers: Seattle, Washington
Redfish Lake Lodge: Stanley, Idaho

What other burger joints should be added to the list from our region?

Weekend Report: Beach Naturalists this weekend

Looking for something fun to do this weekend?

If you're anything like me, the answer is yes! Anything to keep me from getting to that weekend-to-do list!

And not only is this Memorial Day Weekend - which means lots to do around Seattle, but it's also a low tide weekend. And one of the coolest things I've discovered since moving to Seattle is the Beach Naturalist program from the Seattle Aquarium.

On low tide days, trained volunteers share their knowledge with folks interested in learning more about whats in Puget Sound at area beaches.

Here's a story on the program I did for the Seattle Channel.

Oh, and one of the best things about this program, sometimes, the low tides are conveniently located starting at 10:30 in the morning!

You get an outdoor education & you get to sleep in! That's a win win!

What's going on here?

Hello there,
Thanks for stumbling onto my latest adventure.

Basically I'm starting this blog as away to share my love of news & writing. Some days you'll find links to interesting articles around the web. Others you'll find articles I've written.

They may be about timely events & issues. They may be about things I find interesting.

Basically, it's anyone guess.

But hopefully you'll keep coming back to see what's here.

Thanks,
Meg
